بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
And say ‘my Lord increase my knowledge’ (Surat Taha: 114)
As the community of Rasulullah, we hold that seeking knowledge is the duty of every Muslim man and woman. For this reason, mumineen of the Detroit Jamaat regularly seek to advance in faith (deen) and conviction (‘iman) through knowledge (‘ilm) and education.
With the dua and raza of Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS, mumineen in the Detroit Jamaat regularly attend and benefit from in weekly sabaq halqas hosted by Fatemi Dawat. Many of these sabaqs are led by Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin’s RA shehzadas and shehzadis including Shzd Dr. Bazat Tahera Bhensaheb bint Syedna Qutbuddin and Shzd Arwa Bhensaheb bint Syedna Qutbiddin.
Many of these sabaqs are topic-based and cover a variety of subjects, including history of our da’wat, deeni jurisprudence, and more. Mumineen have the opportunity to attain zahir, taweel, and haqiqat ‘ilm through an interactive formal and all participants are encouraged to ask questions (pertaining to the kitaab, or on any other topic) during and after sabaq.
Connect with a Ma’sul to learn more about how to join weekly sabaqs.
We understand the importance of building a strong understanding of faith (iman) from an early age. This is why all children in our jamaat join others from all around the world in weekly madrasa sessions hosted by Fatemi Dawat.
Each child is placed in a madrasa class with a group of students who share the same age range and learning level. The interactive and virtual format of these weekly classes encourages students to ask questions and learn directly from our da’wat kitabs. Madrasa classes cover a variety of topics including jurisprudence (fiqh), history (tarikh), ayat/hadith/kalam, daily prayers (duas), dawat-ni-zaban, and more. Many of these sessions are taught and organized by Shehzadi Arwa Bhensaheb bint Syedna Qutbuddin and Shehzadi Fatema Bhensaheb bint Syedna Qutbuddin.
Madrasa also provides students an opportunity to connect with other children in our community and form meaningful friendships with other mumineen. Connect with a Ma’sul to learn more about the Fatemi Dawat madrasa program and enroll your child.
Arabic Language Classes
Arabic languages classes are also offered those seeking a deeper understanding of the Qu’ran, our daily prayers, and our religious texts (deeni kitabs). Connect with a Ma’sul to learn more about how to join.
Many of our daily duas and prayers are also translated into English and Dawat-ni-Zaban so that mumineen can better understand them. These include:
- Qasidas, Marasiyas, Salaams, Nohas, and Munajaats
- Ablution / Wuzu
- Salah / Namaaz
- Frequently Recited Farizat Duas (taqarub, ayat-al-kursi, etc)
- Duas for special miqaats (Ramadan, washeq, etc)
- Bihori namaaz and duas
A thousand years ago, every Thursday, Syedna al-Mu’ayyad al-Shirazi RA answered the questions of his time in the Majalis al Hikma (Wisdom Seminars). Today, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS answers the questions of today in a weekly video series entitled ‘Majalis al-Hikma.‘ Each 15-20 minute session covers a different topic and Syedna’s teachings are directly available to all mumineen in three languages: English, Dawat-ni-Zaban, and Arabic.
