Ramadan Updates – 2nd Dasko

Mubarak to all on completing the first 10 days of Ramadan. As we welcome the next ten days, we would like to share some information and resources to remind mumineen about the maghfirat nu dasko (days of forgiveness).

Mumineen are encouraged to read the second dasko’s dua after Zohra nafilat namaaz. Amal details (including the fully translated dua are here.

A reminder that imamat ni namaaz is still being held at two locations (Grosse Pointe and Canton) throughout the month. All are welcome to join and COVID-19 precautions are being taken. If you would like to join us, please contact one of our Mas’uls.

Mumineen who are interested in joining daily Qu’ran dawr are still able to join. Alongside the daily dawr that takes place at 6.30 pm IST daily in Mumbai (with Seydi Mazoom Saheb AAB), there is also a daily dawr for mumineen in North America that takes place at 6:10 pm EST. All meetings are virtual and take place over Zoom. Contact a Ma’sul to receive the link.

Read about the sharaf of these ten days:

  • Sijill Article 72 – The Ten Days of Forgiveness (Maghfirat): In this article, Shehzada Dr. Aziz Bhaisaheb discusses that our Hudaat Kiraam have divided sins into three categories: 1) transgressions between an individual and Allah Ta’ala, 2) transgressions between an individual and Allah’s waliyy (sahibuz-zamaan) and, 3) transgressions between one individual and another individual.
  • Sijill Article 71 – The Pillar of “Sawm” (Roza): In this article, Shehzada Dr. Aziz Bhaisaheb explains Syedna Qadi al-Nu’man’s quote of Maulatuna Fatema AS, “what good is one’s roza if he does not safeguard his tongue, ears, eyes and limbs [from all that is Haraam].”
  • Sijill Article 20 – Fasting and Forbearance: Self-Discipline Not Self-Denial: In this article, Shehzada Dr. Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin narrates that when Shehzada Dr. Abdeali Bhaisaheb was a student of journalism at the American University in Cairo, he wrote a letter to the editor of the paper saying that Ramadan is not a month of “self-denial” but rather a month of self-discipline – Indeed, we discipline ourselves in small ways and large.

Audio recordings and translations of the duas to be prayed at Fajr, Zohr, and Iftaar are linked below. Written translations of duas can also be found here.

Our beloved Syedna has also done zikr on the sharaf and virtue of Shehr Ramadan. See his majalis below:

Syedi Mazoon Saheb AAB’s also does a short daily zikr about the histories of our panjataan, Imams, and duas. See his reflections on the Daily Quran Majeed dawr here:
